Anita Kalniņa's sources of inspiration are nature, the culture of the World, her own inner world and events on the scale of humanity. Delicately, but unsparingly and without embellishment, the artist shows us the processes of her soul in the context of her spiritual searching and of global events.

To voice her ideas in the language of colour Anita Kalniņa deliberately chooses the means of expression characteristic of abstract painting. Although the structure of the composition holds an important place in her work, it is colour that becomes the chief bearer of the message — emotionally saturated, many-layered and intuitive.
