The element that holds the exhibition together is a record of a person's everyday situations within the span of one week, on the assumption that we meet such situations and feelings often, that they recur in cycles and befall each of us.
In the main the works reflect the inner struggles that arise from differing opinions and attitudes in society and from one's own personality not matching what is generally accepted.
Each of the situations can offer a chance to find one's own incompatibilities and the feelings long locked away inside, which for some reason we have already traded for an ability to adapt and for show, sweetening society with our ideal existence, which repeats itself day after day and takes us further from the true “I”.
About the artist

Otto Zitmanis
The painting of Otto Zitmanis is saturated with movement and emotional tension — it is rooted in the expressionist tradition, where the figure becomes a fragile and at the same time dramatic bearer of a person's inner world. In the paintings a tension of relationship opens between one or several figures, in whom intense experience, unspoken fear, longing, love, aggression and sorrow are concentrated.
